peanut better balls!!!
I know. I really need to stop using so many exclamation marks. HA. But it makes so fun; and I get SO excited about each new little treat I make. Ok, so I'm calling these my peanut better balls because these little special yummies are made from oats, honey, peanut butter, and a few key secret ingredients. I figure with the holidays coming around, we can use less guilty pleasures at times. HOWEVER, that said, I will gladly make my favorites, the full fat version for you if you prefer.
Funny story, these are probably my favorite Christmas candy every holiday season. I used to make myself sick on these. I would go over to my grandma's house while she made these... the full fat ones.... one of many reasons I was a pudgy kid, you know, the ones with peanut butter, probably some high fructose corn syrup and MSG in there.... rice krispies, and dipped in CHOCOLATE! Anyone else appreciate my lovely run-on sentence there? Hey, I'm a teacher, I have to notice these things.... :)
Anyhow, after I ate my share of the ingredients making the dadgum things, we would then pop them in granny's freezer. But wait, how resourceful is this? Grandma's chest freezer was organized with coffee cans. Covered in contact paper. With little blue flowers. I still remember them... ahhhhh. So we'd go to filling plastic produce bags (from last week's potatoes) with these balls, tie a recylced twisty tie around them (saved from the loaf of bread), and shove them in the coffee cans, and then into the freezer until Christmas! Welllll, let's just see how many how left by Christmas. ENOUGH, because we all still got our share :)
Anyhow, I love these things, and I don't feel so guilty about eating them. So take your pick, peanut better, peanut butter, eh whatever you like. Christmas is almost here!!!!!
